Protect My Property Services Ltd, trading as ProtectMyProperty.co.uk, processes personal data in the course of its business activities.
This document is to provide our customers with information about what we do with this data and to advise them of their rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the European legislation replacing the Data Protection Act 1998 on May 25th2018
Our primary lawful basis for the processing of personal data is contract. This is because we need to hold certain information about our customers in order to be able to carry out the work we are contracted to do, or to respond to enquiries and requests for service. The kinds of information we may hold include:
- contact information – including telephone numbers and email addresses
- bank details
- credit card information
- details of financial transactions with us

- respond to enquiries from customers and potential customers
- communicate with our customers
- perform our contracts
- process payments for the services that we provide

We will retain enquiry, design, installation, commissioning, service records and other contract documentation relating to the systems and services we provide, which may include personal data, for the duration of any contract plus a further 2 years. This is in line with the requirements of our industry accreditation body.
Financial transaction records are retained until the end of the financial year and then for a further 6 years in line with statutory requirements.
In order to fulfil our contract with you we will, where necessary share essential information about you and your security system with our alarm monitoring centre and (if you have chosen a monitored contract), the police force covering your area. We sometimes also need to work with third parties who provide consulting, support and technical services to deliver and implement solutions. We may share your information with these third parties as necessary to fulfil the services you have requested
We use a third party provider to manage our website and social media interactions. If you send us an enquiry via our website, or a private or direct message via social media the data will be processed by our third party provider on our behalf.
